Chasidy Singleton, M.D.

​Chasidy Singleton, MD, graduated magna cum laude from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor of Science in 1995, before receiving a Doctor of Medicine from Vanderbilt University Medical School in 1999. She then interned with the Department of Internal Medicine at Vanderbilt and completed her residency at Vanderbilt’s Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences in 2003. Prior to joining Columbia Eye Associates, Dr. Singleton served as Medical Director and Chief of Ophthalmology at Nashville General Hospital, held Associate Professor positions at Vanderbilt Eye Institute and Meharry Medical College, served American veterans and trained residents at the Veterans Administration Tennessee Valley Healthcare System, and was in private practice with Ophthalmic Consultants of Long Island. Dr. Singleton’s passion is to eliminate disparities in eye care across all communities and increase workforce diversity in ophthalmology. She contributes that passion to the training and coaching she received while a participant in the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) Leadership Development Program. She is Past Chair of the Ophthalmology section of the National Medical Association (NMA), an examiner for the American Board of Ophthalmology, and a subcommittee member of the Minority Ophthalmology Mentoring (MOM) program of the AAO. In her spare time, Dr. Singleton enjoys playing cello and singing, as well as drawing, painting, and jewelry making.
